Second Sunday of Advent: Peace

We light this second advent candle, the candle of peace, and again take time to pause.

Pray with Me

Good and Faithful Shepherd,

Comforter of Your people,
we need Your peace.

You are perfectly faithful, just, kind, and holy.
We thirst for peace from Your supply,
not from this world.

Just as You declared comfort and peace
on Your people through the prophet Isaiah,
so we look to Your comfort and peace now:

You will tend Your flock like a shepherd;
You will gather the lambs in Your arms;
You will carry them in your bosom,
and gently lead those that are with young.

Isaiah 40:11
