Summer in the Psalms

Be honest.  Have you ever had any of these questions for God?

Why?

When?

How long?

Of course you have.

But also, there are times when we are simply overwhelmed with God’s providence, protection, and wisdom.

The Psalms encounter, engage, and embrace every human thought and emotion. As such, the book of Psalms has been called the very heart of the Bible. Although five weeks could never cover the scope of this, the longest book in the Bible, as comprehensively as we would like, we will dive in as far as we can into this essential communication God has for his people.

Within the Psalms we find prayers, songs of praise and lament, songs of thanksgiving and grievance, of royalty and anathema. The Psalms are the prayers and songs of God’s people.
