Hey, have you heard? The 2024 election is clearly “the most important election in the history of the country!”

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So was the election in 2020. And in 2016. And 2012 … AND, 2028’s election is sure to be more important than this year’s.

All of it, seemingly, on a mission to ratchet up the vitriol to new, unimagined heights. (If you think this year is a mess, read the histories about the election and aftermath in 1860!)

Is it even worth having a conversation? Yes, we believe so! There is more at stake than just the presidential election. Local issues are, arguably, far more important than who is partying in the White House.

Yes, but can we have those conversations in a civil and constructive manner? Again, YES! At least we’re going to try.
