Men, join us for our Spring Bible study Monday, February 4, at 6:30am at the church, continuing for successive Mondays until exhaustion.
We’ll be studying great men of the Bible. To loosely paraphrase the promotional tag on our selected book, the men depicted in the Bible were not perfect by any means. We find story after story marked by scandal, failure, and intrigue. Noah drank too much. Job thought he knew more than God. Moses murdered a man. David committed adultery. Joseph risked his reputation. Peter betrayed Christ. Paul killed Jesus followers, etc.
Yet we also find that many of these men were also able to look beyond their circumstances, completely trust in the Lord, and follow Him wherever He chose to take them. Like us, these men made both good and bad decisions along the way–and experienced both good and bad consequences–and we find our struggles and hopes in the pages of the Bible that tells their stories.
In this 10-session study of Max Lucado’s book Ten Men of the Bible (widely available in print and in Kindle form), the author tells some of his favorite stories of these men, including Noah, Job, Jacob, Moses, Peter, Paul, and others.
There is much we can learn from this study that will significantly help us lead better lives of holiness, joy, contentment, and faithful obedience. So, please acquire the book (and don’t be dismayed by its format—it’s much easier to digest than it first appears) and get ready. See you there!
